There is only 1 month left to one of the greatest celebration over the world, Christmas Eve. Although Christmas is not a public holiday in Vietnam, it has been received much recognition from the local residents, especially, the capital of Vietnam - Hanoi. Streets, cathedrals, hotels and shopping mall is all well-decorated as a big festival. If you were in Hanoi during the Christmas period, you could go to the following destinations to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.
The Big Cathedral
This is a well-known church with a specific architecture and history - the center of Christian activity in Hanoi and some surrounding areas. On Christmas Day, it was decorated splendidly, attracting many visitors as well as Christians.
Hoan Kiem Lake
As introduced before, Hoan Kiem Lake is an attractive destination for who living in Hanoi. On each special occasion, Hoan Kiem Lake was decorated with confetti, brilliant lanterns, and sparkling lights. It might seem to be more glistening and beautiful.
The Shopping Malls
The Mall Center with Christmas decorations are very early, sometimes from which reminds people that the coming Christmas holidays. Several big centers in Hanoi as Times city, Royal City, are Long Bien Aeon Mallare decorated with huge pine trees with stunning lights, Santa Claus, colorful rickshaw. Christmas Eve is a good chance to pick up the most trendy fashion from shopping malls with shocking sale off and hundreds of new arrivals. Don’t miss the golden opportunity to buy what you want.
2. Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Street
It has been over two months since its opening, the walking street has become familiar with Hanoians. This is a model of MyHanoi which aims to build up, maintain and promote a community space, where demands the needs of the locals and foreigners about exploring the cultural activities and entertainments. From 7 p.m on Friday to 12 p.m on Sunday in every week, Hoan Kiem Lake area – the heart of Hanoi and some streets in the Old Quarter, namely Hang Buom, Hang Giay, Ta Hien, Luong Ngoc Quyen and Ma May, open the pedestrian street. Moreover, the transportation is not allowed to move as daily days, and the flow of people have chances to experience many trading activities include foods, clothes, souvenirs and consumer goods. This program is applying from 01.09.2016 to 31.12.2016. At the end of the December, the pilot project is possible to continue or not.
Time: 07:00 p.m to 12:00 p.m on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
3. Photography exhibition by Daniel Friedman
This exhibition is a gift for someone who wants to explore more about the daily life of the Vietnamese people. The photographs are implemented by the photographer Daniel Friedman captured during the 10 years he lived in Hanoi and Da Nang, recording his memorable imprint about the locals in there. Especially these images are printed on the traditional material - Dó paper, make the pictures more exquisite, showing the depth and color of the photo.
